CompressX with the main feature of supporting image and video compression, significantly reducing file size without compromising the quality. Along with many other convenient features, CompressX is becoming one of the popular image and video compression software chosen by many MacOS users.

The software was built and developed since the end of 2023 by Dinh Quang Hieu, a software engineer from Vietnam.

Revenue model

CompressX generates revenue through a "one-time purchase" model, selling perpetual licenses to users. The current price is $19/device through the payment platform Lemon Squeezy.

With this model, the software is currently generating an estimated average revenue of $2,500/month, with total revenue of over $5,000 (as of February 2024), according to the author's sharing.

Marketing strategy

CompressX is promoted through various channels such as Twitter, Product Hunt, listing directories, affiliate advertising... However, the software gained attention thanks to the wide support and sharing from the indie hacker community, especially MacOS users, through the Twitter social network.

In addition, another factor that contributes significantly to the product promotion is the quality and performance of the software, highly appreciated by a large number of users.
